In a fitting for tubing 1 having a tapered end 7 for sealing with a seat 9 and an externallythreaded section 4 on to which a collar 3 is screwed, a tapered split collet 13 is contracted radially to grip the tubing as the gland nut 5 is screwed into the socket 6. In a modification, the taper of the collet converges towards the collar and the nut 5 has an internally-threaded recess for the reception of an auxiliary gland nut. |
