Provided is a technology such that it is possible intraocularly to secure both space for disposing an artificial retinal of a desired size and space for converting light energy into electrical energy. An embodiment of the artificial retina system has a conversion means, an artificial retina, and a transmission means. The conversion means is disposed intraocularly, allows the passage of a subset of intraocularly entering light, and converts the energy of another subset of the light to electrical energy. The artificial retina is disposed intraocularly, operates by receiving the electrical energy obtained by the conversion means, and contains a photoelectric conversion element array that generates an electrical signal by detecting the light that has passed through the conversion means. The transmission means is used for sending the electrical signal generated by the artificial retina to the visual cortex of a brain. |
