<p>Methods, systems and apparatus for monitoring equivalent inner diameter of arteriole-like blood vessels and related cardiovascular parameters, whereby measuring a time difference between signals from larger blood vessels, like arteries (excluding arterioles), and smaller blood vessels, similar to arterioles by their physiologic properties. In some aspects, at least one sensor is placed next to a branching blood vessel and measures two concurrent signals. Artery-like vessels contribute more to the first signal and arteriole-like vessels contribute more to the second. A processor obtains differences between the signals and transient time-based differences from said differences. In some aspects, the phase difference between the signals is determined and this is used towards determining the diameter. In some aspects, multiple sensors 2010, 2020, 2040 are provided and processor 2030 monitors or indicates the changes of the diameter.</p> |
