<p>The present invention relates to an air bag apparatus comprising an air bag cushion portion having a main chamber, and having an auxiliary chamber which causes an asymmetric development by being combined to be communicated with the main chamber through a vent; a vent cap portion closing the vent by being formed in the auxiliary chamber; a connecting string releasing portion formed in the air bag cushion portion; a connecting string pulling the vent cap portion not to make the vent open by a gas by being connected to the connecting string releasing portion and the vent cap portion; and a control portion which controls the connecting string releasing portion to make the connecting string cut when an non-functional condition is sensed by being connected to the connecting string releasing portion. The present invention increases the safety for a passenger since an air bag cushion is not asymmetrically developed when a passenger such as the old and the infirm is on board.</p> |
