<p>The present invention relates to a method for measuring a volume of water in a reservoir or dam by 3D GIS and a microwave pulse detector. The method includes the steps of: irradiating a micro wave into a water surface of a reservoir or dam at a given angle; detecting an arrival time of a first reflective wave of the micro wave reflected from the water surface to measure a varied value of a water level of the reservoir or dam; detecting an arrival time of a second reflective wave of the micro wave reflected from the bottom surface to measure a deposited thickness of a sand layer deposited on the bottom surface of the reservoir or dam; calculating the height of the water in the reservoir or dam by the measured varied value of the water level and the deposited thickness; converting the height of the calculated water into 3D GIS information; and comparing the converted 3D GIS information and reference 3D GIS information to measure the volume of the water in the reservoir or dam.</p> |
