An X-ray controlling method of a CT apparatus disclosed according to an embodiment of the present invention includes the following steps of: acquiring scout images of an object by using object images photographed from each of multiple points on the rotational path of the rotating frame of the CT apparatus; setting an imaging area of the object in the acquired scout images; determining an outline of the transverse length of the imaging area according to the rotational path of the rotating frame based on the transverse length of the imaging area; controlling an X-ray radiated to the object by controlling the transverse collimator interval of the CT apparatus along the determined outline; and recomposing the X-ray cross-sectional image of the object by using X-ray projection data of the object generated by sensing the controlled X-ray.
