PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an OHV engine capable of reducing a height of an engine.SOLUTION: An OHV engine 24 includes a cylinder 54, a piston 64 disposed in the cylinder 54, a crank shaft 66 for converting a reciprocating motion of the piston 64 to a rotating motion, a connection rod 72 connecting the piston 64 with the crank shaft 66, and a cam shaft 68 interlocked with the crank shaft 66. When observing the cylinder 54 from a crank shaft 66 side, the cylinder 54 is inclined obliquely upward so that an angle &thetas;1 between a cylinder central axis A and a horizontal face H is more than 0 degree and less than 45 degrees, the cam shaft 68 is positioned at a lower part with respect to the cylinder central axis A, and the cylinder central axis A passes through a rotating axis B of the crank shaft 66, and is offset to an opposite side of the cam shaft 68 with respect to a line C in parallel with the cylinder central axis A. |
