The present invention relates to a method to form a mounting cup for a gas container capable of allowing the thickness not to be thinner by pushing one side of a gasket mounting protrusion toward a seaming part when outside clamping, and forming a gasket mounting protrusion at the same height without bursting or tearing one side when the gasket mounting protrusion is formed by drawing as a punching part is punched in the roundness of uniform height while a frame is not concentrated to one side or not thinner in punching by ensuring a plane before a curved boundary of a the mounting cup is punched by using a pin of an upper mold. The method to forming a mounting cup for a gas container comprises: an overpressure gas exhaust hole forming step of processing a curved boundary of a mounting cup as a plane by a pressure by lowering and lifting a first upper punch and a first lower punch whose each end forms a plane, and punching the center part of an ensured plane by lowering a pin embedded in the first upper punch; and a gasket mounting protrusion forming step of forming a gasket mounting protrusion between a second lower punch and a punch inserting hole of a second upper punch while the second lower punch is inserted into the inside of the second upper punch by lowering the second upper punch having a punch inserting hole vertically penetrated through the center part to insert the second lower punch after the ensured plane part of a mounting cup is located in the upper part of the second lower punch to allow an overpressure gas exhaust hole formed on a mounting cup by the overpressure gas exhaust hole forming step to make the same axis as the second lower punch fixed to a lower mold.
