<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric field stirring apparatus and an electric field stirring method capable of reducing the time for immunostaining.SOLUTION: There is provided an electric field stirring apparatus 1 in which a substrate W is placed on a lower electrode 10 opposed to an upper electrode 20 and the upper electrode and the lower electrode apply electric fields in opposing directions to a droplet S on the substrate to cause the droplet to vibrate. The electric field stirring apparatus 1 comprises: a lifting mechanism 11 for lowering/raising the lower electrode 10; apex detection means 24 having a detection area R under the upper electrode; and control means 40 for determining whether or not the apex of the droplet S reaches the detection area. If the apex of the droplet S does not yet reach the detection area S, the control means 40 controls the lifting mechanism 11 to raise the lower electrode 10, and if the apex of the droplet S reaches the detection area, the control means 40 controls the lifting mechanism 11 to maintain the height position of the lower electrode 10. Alternatively, if the apex of the droplet S does not yet reach the detection area S, the control means 40 controls the lifting mechanism 11 to lower the upper electrode 20, and if the apex of the droplet S reaches the detection area, the control means 40 controls the lifting mechanism 11 to maintain the height position of the upper electrode 20.</p> |
