<p>The present invention relates to chelator compounds for chelating metal ions. In particular, the present invention relates to (thio)semicarbazone compounds and (thio)hydrazone compounds, such as PpYeT and PpYaT, which are chelators for metal ions, including iron ions. Therapeutic use of such compounds and/or their metal ion complexes, includes methods for treating and inhibiting HIV-1 replication, particularly in HIV-1 infected cells.</p> |
