Method and device for heating an industrial oven

The method involves disrupting fuel flow in a fuel supply (4) when temperature in a heating chamber (3) of an industrial furnace is above a threshold value in an operation mode such that only combustion air flows into the chamber from a medium velocity burner (1). The fuel is fed into the chamber in a direction of a combustion air stream at an angle in a range of 60-120 degrees with respect to an axis of the air stream, by another fuel supply (7), where gaseous fuel is fed into the burner by the former supply in another operation mode. The fuel is flamelessly oxidized in the chamber. An independent claim is also included for a device for heating a top hat furnace by burning gaseous fuel, comprising a burner.
