PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capacitance type input device capable of enhancing the resolution of a detection output in a detection electrode when supplying an electric field to a drive electrode and detecting a so called spatial gesture with high accuracy.SOLUTION: Electrodes 12 arranged on the surface of a substrate are independent electrodes non-conducted to each other. The electrodes 12 are sequentially selected and are set to a drive electrode D, and the drive power 28 of a rectangular wave is supplied to the drive electrode D. The electrodes 12 adjacent the drive electrode D are set to detection electrodes S0, S1, S2, S3, S4, S5, S6 and S7. An electric field from the drive electrode D uniformly spreads in each direction since the drive power 28 is supplied to the single drive electrode D, and thereby even the operation of a spatial gesture is detected with high resolution. |
