NONINVASIVE ATRIAL ACTIVITY ESTIMATION SYSTEM AND METHOD

Disclosed are a system and a method for estimating noninvasive atrial signals. The system comprises: multiple sensors to sense surface electrocardiogram signals; a reference atrial signal generation unit to generate estimation ventricle signals based on an R wave of the electrocardiogram signal sensed by one of the sensors and to generate a reference atrial signal by subtracting the estimation ventricle signals from the electrocardiogram signal of the one sensor; and an atrial signal estimation unit to generate estimation atrial signals by applying a constrained independent component analysis algorithm based on the reference atrial signal to the received surface electrocardiogram signal and to estimate one of the estimation atrial signals as a main atrial signal, thereby estimating an atrial signal, which is the most similar to the main atrial signal in the surface electrocardiogram signals.
