PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow the flow velocity and advance direction of a glass film ribbon to be properly adjusted to thereby avoid the damage, etc. of the glass film ribbon and manufacture high quality glass film products and semifinished product smoothly.SOLUTION: A glass film ribbon manufacturing apparatus comprises a shaping section 2, a direction conversion section 3, a transverse conveying section 4, a cutting section 5, and a take-up unit 6. The transverse conveying section 4 includes: main conveying means 13b with the cutting section 5 on the conveying path; first conveying means 13a arranged in the region approaching the direction conversion section 3 upstream of the main conveying means 13b; and second conveying means 13c arranged downstream of the main conveying means 13b. In addition, the contact area and the coefficient of static friction between the conveyance support face 13ab of the first conveying means 13a and the glass film ribbon G are set smaller than the contact area and the coefficient of static friction between the respective conveyance support faces Sbb, Scb of the main conveying means 13b and second conveying means 13c and the glass film ribbon G, respectively. |
