1. A Luer connector for use in a respiratory gas sampling and/or delivery tubing systems, the connector comprising:
a primary Luer male connector, having a form of a tapered cone comprising a secondary female section extending from a top distal part of said primary Luer male connector back towards a proximal part thereof, wherein said primary Luer male connector comprises an inner fluid flow channel extending along its length from a proximal end thereof to and in fluid flow connection with said secondary female section, wherein said inner fluid flow channel has a diameter of approximately d1, wherein when said primary Luer male connector mates with a primary Luer female connector having a secondary male section, said secondary male section is at least partially inserted into said secondary female section, thereby extending said inner fluid flow channel of diameter d1 throughout said primary Luer male connector and said primary Luer female connector, such that a laminar flow and an undisturbed waveform is maintained throughout said primary Luer male connector and said primary Luer female connector. |
