<p>A casement window or door assembly comprising a frame 30 within which a hinged wing 2 of the window or door is hingedly mounted, the frame having at least one bevelled shoulder 44 46 facing an opening side of the window assembly against which a respective resilient seal 22 24 provided on the wing abuts when the wing is in its closed position. Preferably the shoulder extends at least at an acute angle with respect to the plane, preferably at 45°. The shoulder and seal preferably extends around the circumference of the frame. Preferably two bevelled shoulders are provided, one located on the outer face 42 of the window/door and one of the inner face 34. By having a bevelled shoulder for engaging with the seal misalignment of the wing and the frame or misadjustment of the locking mechanism can be accounted for preventing drafts.</p> |
