Various embodiments for an exhaust gas treatment device are provided. In one example, the exhaust gas treatment device includes a first substrate coated with a low temperature catalyst configured to operate under a first, low temperature range. The exhaust gas treatment device further includes a second substrate coated with a high temperature catalyst positioned downstream of the first substrate, the high temperature catalyst configured to operate under a second, high temperature range. Further, in the first and second temperature ranges, particulate matter is oxidized at the second substrate. |

1. A vehicle system comprising:
an engine cab defined by a roof assembly and side walls; an engine positioned in the engine cab such that a longitudinal axis of the engine is aligned in parallel with a length of the engine cab; a turbocharger positioned at an end of the engine; and an exhaust gas treatment device mounted on the engine within a space defined by a top surface of an exhaust manifold of the engine, the roof assembly, and the side walls of the engine cab such that a longitudinal axis of the exhaust gas treatment device is aligned in parallel with the longitudinal axis of the engine, the exhaust gas treatment device including a first substrate coated with a low temperature catalyst positioned upstream of a second substrate coated with a high temperature catalyst, the exhaust gas treatment device disposed upstream of a turbine of the turbocharger and configured to receive exhaust gas from the exhaust manifold of the engine. |
