PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect information from a paper sheet with high accuracy, while reducing an occurrence of a transfer failure.SOLUTION: A paper sheet identification device 10 is placed at a distance shorter than a length of a paper sheet P of a conveyance object, and is provided with: a first conveyance mechanism 11 and a second conveyance mechanism 12 for conveying the paper sheet P; and a magnetic sensor 13 provided between the first conveyance mechanism 11 and the second conveyance mechanism 12 and detecting magnetic information from the paper sheet P. The paper sheet identification device 10 faces the magnetic sensor 13, and is insertably arranged with the paper sheet P with the magnetic sensor 13, and includes a first guide member 14 capable of giving to the paper sheet P a force of a conveyance direction D1 which directs toward the second conveyance mechanism 12 from the first conveyance mechanism 11. The paper sheet identification device 10 includes a second guide member 15 which approaches the magnetic sensor 13 from a detection limit position of the magnetic sensor 13 in an opposite direction of the magnetic sensor 13 and is placed further away from the first guide member 14 for the magnetic sensor 13 in the opposite direction of the magnetic sensor 13. |
