PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To early discover contamination by heterologous organisms such as microbes without adding specimens, etc. in an observation image assessment apparatus, method or program for assessing whether or not heterologous organisms other than stem cells are included in an observation region on the basis of observation images in which an observation region including the stem cells is photographed.SOLUTION: An observation image assessment apparatus comprises: an observation image acquisition unit 30 for acquiring observation images in which an observation region including stem cells to be cultured is photographed; and an assessment unit 31 for assessing whether or not organisms different from the stem cells are included in the observation region. The assessment unit 31 assesses whether or not different organisms are included in the observation region on the basis of at least one of morphological information and temporal change information about the observed object acquired from the observation images. |
