The piston (100) includes an upper surface (118) configured to at least partly face a cylinder head (158) of the internal combustion engine (150). The upper surface (118) includes a combustion bowl surface (130), and a squish face (128) having an internal edge (134) disposed a first distance from the longitudinal axis (112) along a radial direction (114). The combustion bowl surface (130) includes a planar surface (200) extending radially outward from the longitudinal axis (112) of the piston (100), a first concave surface (202) disposed outside the planar surface (200) in the radial direction (114), the first concave surface (202) having a first radius of curvature (250), and a second concave surface (204) disposed outside the first concave surface (202) in the radial direction (114), the second concave surface (204) having a second radius of curvature (258), the second radius of curvature (258) being smaller than the first radius of curvature (250).
