<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of normalized quantification of RNA.SOLUTION: The present invention is related to normalized quantification of RNA and to the normalization of quantity of RNA in a sample, e.g. a mixture of RNA. The present invention relates to a method for the normalization of the quantity of RNA to be quantified in a sample to the total quantity of RNA in the sample; or to the total quantity of a specific class of RNA in the sample. The present invention also relates to a kit for performing any of the above described methods, the kit comprising: a first nucleic acid probe which is substantially complementary to a defined region of RNA or a specific class of RNA in the sample, and comprises one or more primer binding sites and a probe binding site; and optionally one or more second nucleic acid probes substantially complementary to the probe binding site on the first nucleic acid probe.</p> |
