PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve a grading accuracy for performance of a string musical instrument by a user.SOLUTION: A karaoke device 10 has a RAM49 for storing karaoke music data associated with code information, reads and reproduces the stored karaoke music data, generates target pitch data corresponding to the code in an electric guitar 4 for each code included in the associated code information in accordance with a reproduction of the karaoke music data, inputs a performance signal outputted by a performance of the electric guitar 4 by a user, generates actual pitch data based on the input performance signal, determines a degree of coincidence between the target pitch data and the corresponding actual pitch data by power cord data consisting of a root sound of each code and a sound of five or more pitches above the root sound, and grades the performance of the user according to the determined degree of coincidence.
