PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal transfer sheet capable of forming an image having a high printing density while preventing the occurrence of kickback or scumming.SOLUTION: There is provided a thermal transfer sheet in which a dye layer is provided on one surface of a substrate and a back surface layer is provided on the other surface of the substrate. The dye layer contains a binder resin, a sublimable dye and organic fine particles, nitrocellulose is contained in the binder resin, the binder resin contains 70 mass% or more of the nitrocellulose based on the total solid content of the binder resin, and the mass ratio (D/B ratio (the dye layer/the binder resin) between the dye layer and the binder resin containing nitrocellulose) is 0.5 or more and 3.5 or less. |
