Provided is an endoscope system (1), comprising: an insertion unit (21); an illumination unit (23) which projects a plurality of illumination lights of different hues; an image capture unit (25) which captures an optical image from an objective optical system at the leading end part of the insertion unit (21); a channel (26) which opens at the leading end part of the insertion unit (21); a laser probe (5) which is passed through the channel (26) and which has a projection unit (51) in the leading end region thereof; a hue range setting unit (36) which sets a hue range of the laser probe (5) corresponding to the hue of the illumination light; an image analysis unit (33) which detects a hue range portion in a color image which is obtained from the image capture unit (25); and a control unit (35) which allows laser output only when the hue range portion is detected.
