[Also in Division A4] A collapsable clothes-airer is retained in erected position by a catch 34 integral with a crossbar 30 rotatably mounted in lugs 32 of a frame 14 and gravity-urged into engagement with a cross bar 18a of a frame 16. The bars 30 and 18a are retained in spaced relationship by the catch 34 which has a handle knob 38 by which the catch is rotated upwards to displace the centre of gravity of the catch to the side of the bar 30 remote from the bar 18a for release of the frames, which collapse under gravity. A catch 34 is provided at each side, or in the centre, of the cross bar 30. The invention is stated to be applicable to deck chairs and to folding tables. |
