<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a free cooling system and a free cooling method using the same, capable of automatically determining an operation ratio of a cooling tower and a refrigerating machine, depending on a change in an outdoor air temperature, without the need of operator's skill, and making constant the temperature of cold water fed to a load-side heat exchanger.SOLUTION: A free cooling system 1 includes: a cooling tower flow path 8 and a refrigerating machine flow path 9; a cooling water pipe 11 in which cooling water circulates; a cooling tower 12; a direct path 16 and return path 17 formed by being branched off from the cooling tower flow path 8; and refrigerating machines 19, and further includes: a flow meter 25; a selector valve 18 for regulating and distributing flow volumes to the direct path 16 and the return path 17; a controller 26 for receiving a measurement result of the flow meter 25 and regulating an opening degree of the selector valve 18; and a distribution map for calculating a maximum cooling temperature of return cold water by a maximum cooling capacity of the cooling tower 12 on the basis of an outdoor temperature and a temperature of the return cold water, and determining a distribution ratio of the direct path 16 and the return path 17 according to this calculation result.</p> |
