The present invention provides a composition containing an indirubin derivative for promoting lengthwise growth of a bone. The indirubin derivative is indirubin-3′-oxime. According to the present invention, the composition is effective for lengthwise growth of a bone. Therefore, the composition can be used not only as a composition for promoting lengthwise growth of a bone but also as a pharmaceutical composition for treating and preventing short stature, dwarfism, or precocious puberty.
