The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition and a food composition for inhibiting cancer metastasis, which contain an extract of Bambusae caulis in Taeniam as an active ingredient. The composition containing an extract of Bambusae caulis in Taeniam of the present invention can suppress metastasis while having low cytotoxicity and little side effects, and thus can be useful as a medicine for treating metastasis or metastasis-related disease, or a functional food preparation capable of preventing or alleviating metastasis or metastasis-related disease.
