1. An optical module comprising:
a circuit substrate on which an optical element is mounted; an optical fiber holding member for holding an optical fiber; and an optical coupling member which is fixed on the circuit substrate and optically connects the optical fiber to the optical element on the circuit substrate and is constructed of a material with a linear expansion coefficient different from that of the optical fiber holding member, wherein the circuit substrate has a first region in which the optical coupling member is fixed and a second region opposed to the optical fiber holding member, and thermal insulation space is formed between the optical fiber holding member and the second region.
