563,139. Piezo - electric crystal holders. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd. Jan. 27, 1943, No. 1347. Convention date, July 5, 1941. [Class 40 (v)] A piezo-electric crystal is mounted on a support in such a manner that said crystal is under tension. In Fig. 1, a crystal plate P having electrode surfaces e, e<1> is formed at its ends with rims r which are gripped by rigid clips J, J<1> connected to supports A, A<1> by tension springs S, S<1>. In modifications, Figs. 2 and 3 (not shown), one arm of each jaw J or J<1> is provided with a set-screw for engaging and holding the crystal. The screw may be formed at its end with a pin for engaging a recess in the crystal. Alternatively, the jaws may be replaced by hooks engaging small perforations in the crystal plate,.Fig, 4 (not shown). Fig. 5 shows an arrangement for mounting a crystal plate P in an evacuated container E by means of tension springs S, S<1> connected at one end to apertures in the crystal and at the other end to conducting supports A, A<1> connected to plugs g.
|
