<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oxide crystal having high sensitivity to neutron ray, low background noise originated fromγ-ray and excellent transparency to enable use for a neutron scintillator. <P>SOLUTION: The oxide crystal for neutron scintillator has a structural formula expressed by either one of formulas (1) to (3) and has a<SP>6</SP>Li content of≥2.0 atom/nm<SP>3</SP>, wherein formula (1) is Li(Al<SB>1-x</SB>, TM<SB>x</SB>)O<SB>2</SB>, formula (2) is Li(Al<SB>1-x</SB>, RE<SB>x</SB>)O<SB>2</SB>and formula (3) is Li(Al<SB>1-x-y</SB>, RE<SB>x</SB>, TM<SB>y</SB>)O<SB>2</SB>; 0≤x<0.05 in formula (1), 0≤x≤1 in formula (2) and 0<x<1 and 0<y<0.05 in formula (3); TM is a transition metal element in formulas (1) and (3), and RE is a rare earth element in formulas (2) and (3). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
