<p>A device and method for coating seeds and other plant propagules at the time of planting is described using a foam. The device includes a chamber 2 for receiving a specific number of seeds from a seed reservoir 1. The chamber possesses a plurality of holes or openings 9 through which a foamed liquid can be introduced to the vicinity of the chamber exit 11. Seeds or other plant propagules passing through the foam are coated by the foam and any components contained therein. Both foam and contents can be varied according to the requirements of the specific location to which the seeds are being planted. The components may comprise pesticides, molluscicides, fertilisers and/or plant growth regulators and these components may be gaseous and the gas trapped in the foam may have one or more of these components</p> |
