The process for fabricating a glazing element (10) for automobile vehicles, comprises directly placing a wedge (20) on a peripheral part of the glazing to prevent the contact between an adhesive film (13) and an edge of a protective film (12), and joining a glass plate (11) of the glazing and the protective film by heating in an autoclave. The glass plate is covered with the protective film on its faces using the adhesive film. The wedge has a thickness equal to the thickness of the adhesive film. The wedge is formed by a metallic armature covered with an anti-adhesive material. An independent claim is included for a glazing element for automobile vehicles.
