The present invention relates to an apparatus for repairing a bill validator using a smart device and a method thereof. The present invention comprises: a bill validator; a smart device for relaying or transmitting at least one between data and software related to the update or repair of the bill validator or information about the security to the bill validator and a server; and the server for performing an optimization after receiving the data of the bill validator and software version information through the smart device so as to transmit the result of the optimization to the bill validator through the smart device and perform maintenance and repair.
