<p>The present invention relates to a worm wheel for an electric power steering system and a method for manufacturing same, the worm wheel comprising: a coupling hub unit having a through hole through which a steering column of a vehicle axially passes; and a worm wheel gear unit integrally coupled with the rim portion of the coupling hub unit and engaged, on the outer rim, with the worm gear of the worm shaft which applies a rotational force to the steering column, wherein the worm wheel gear unit is integrally injection-molded with the coupling hub unit, and the coupling hub unit has molding grooves formed along the rim and recessed toward the through hole so as to allow the molding material of the worm wheel gear unit to be filled therein. Thus, the manufacturing method can be comparatively simple and enables the manufacture of a lightweight product.</p> |
