An engine control device having: a first fuel injection valve that injects fuel into an engine intake path; a second fuel injection valve that injects fuel into a combustion chamber in the engine; a turbocharger that turbocharges engine air intake; and a wastegate valve that opens and closes an exhaust bypass path that bypasses a turbine in the turbocharger. In a range in which the amount of fuel injected from the first fuel injection valve is greater than the amount of fuel injected from the second fuel injection valve, the engine control device controls the wastegate valve in the closed valve direction in accordance with the increase in the injection amount of fuel injected from the first fuel injection valve.
