The aim of the invention is to diversify foil feed in a coating station for transferring imaging layers from a transfer foil onto a printing material. For this purpose, a delimited pressing surface is arranged in the coating station for transferring layers from the transfer foil 5. This allows a targeted control of foil feed. The transfer foil 5 is guided past a press roll 3 preferably with a limited foil width and approximately tangentially. To delimit pressing surfaces, format supports 30, 31, 32 are provided for the press roll cover 10. The drives for moving the foil web 5 are controlled during timing depending on the respective thickness of the printing material. |
