Suggested are a washing machine and a method of controlling the same, capable of having a softener uniformly adsorbed into laundry. A time to introduce the softener is adjusted so that the softener is not introduced at an initial water feeding stage in a final rinsing stroke, but introduced during water feeding in the final rinsing stroke. Accordingly, the softener can be uniformly adsorbed into the laundry. In addition, on/off time of a water feeding valve can be adjusted, so that the softener can be divided and introduced. Accordingly, the softener can be uniformly adsorbed into the laundry. When the softener is introduced, a pulsator is actuated left and right to stir the softener left and right, so that the softener can be more rapidly adsorbed into the laundry. Accordingly, the effect of the softener of preventing static electricity and maintaining the softness of the laundry at an original state can be sufficiently made. |
