PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem posed by drug delivery including dropping of an ocular drug, in which the lack of patient compliance may significantly impact the efficacy of the therapies available, leading to reduction in vision and many times blindness, and to thereby bring an improvement over the ocular drug.SOLUTION: A drug insert 320 is a drug insert for an implant body 300 adapted to be disposed within or adjacent to, e.g., an eye of a patient. The drug insert comprises: a cured mixture comprising latanoprost and a silicone matrix, the latanoprost being dispersed within the mixture as inclusions with an average diameter of less than about 10 μm; and an impermeable sheath body partially covering the cured mixture to provide at least one exposed surface. |
