PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device which is capable of surely determining the presence or absence of foreign matters or flaws which are deposited on a surface of a tire and have small differences in height.SOLUTION: First to third irradiation means 121 to 123 which emit red, green, and blue slit beams respectively at mutually different angles are arranged above a side part 50K of a tire 50, and slit images on the surface of the side part 50K are captured by a line camera 13 in which a color filter 19 having a plurality of filter elements arrayed in a plane is arranged in the preceding stage of an imaging device 18, while rotating the tire 50. Thereafter, an R image, a G image, and a B image are generated from the captured images, and it is determined whether foreign matters are deposited on the surface of the side part 50K or not in accordance with brightness distributions of pixel data of the R, G, and B images. |
