<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a novel multi-process production method for 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoro-1-propene (HFO-1234yf) not including any substantial amount of oxygen-containing catalysts.SOLUTION: A method comprises: a first reaction process of fluorinating a compound of formula (IA) defined by CX3CF2CH3 (X is H, F, Cl, I or Br, provided that at least one of X is Cl) to produce 1,1,1,2,2-pentafluoropropane (HFC-245cb), the process performed in the presence of an Sb-based and/or and Fe-based catalyst and having selectivity of at least about 70% to HFC-245cb; and a second reaction process of dehydrofluorinating the 1,1,1,2,2-pentafluoropropane to 2,3,3,3-tetrafluoro-1-propene (HFO-1234yf), the process performed in the presence of a nickel-based catalyst or carbon-based catalyst.</p> |
