The present invention relates to a retractable clothesline assembly. In one form the assembly comprises a base rotatably supporting a spool having an axis of rotation about which the spool is rotatable, a drawbar that is separable from the base, a length of line extending between the spool and the drawbar, a line tensioning means and a pulley located between the spool and the drawbar.
