PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for irradiating an object with light for making it look beautiful by controlling a spectrum of irradiation light so that intensity of light in a specific wavelength region generated from the object increases.SOLUTION: An illumination device includes: an illumination part 2 capable of applying light having different spectra; a light intensity measurement part 3 which measures intensity of light in a wavelength region generated from the object when the object S is irradiated with irradiation light; and a control part 4 which, on the basis of a measured value obtained by the light intensity measurement part, controls so that the intensity of light in a specific wavelength region out of the wavelength region increases. When the object is skin of a person, light for making the skin more beautiful is applied by setting the specific wavelength region to 460-500 nm.
