A process of removing ammonia from coking waste water includes the following steps: adding magnesium salt and phosphate into the coking waste water, adding NaOH to adjust the pH of the reaction system to 9.0-10.5, stirring the reaction solution and precipitating naturally, separating the supernatant and the precipitate, dewatering the precipitate, mixing the dewatered precipitate with the alkaline fly ash and water, heating the mixture to decompose, and absorbing ammonia produced in the decomposition with acid solution.
