[Class 3 (ii)] A sign 1 made of plastic. material is reinforced by ribs or battens 2 at the rear which may be integral with the sign face or attached thereto by screws. The sign is fixed to a supporting post 3 by saddles or stirrups 4 screwed or bolted to the ribs 2. In a modification, the ribs are longitudinally channelled to receive the heads of retaining bolts, this form permitting lateral adjustment of the sign on the post. In another form, the signs are made box-shaped, and two or more may be bolted together with their display faces coplanar. The sign may have a metal mesh, plywood, &c. reinforcement embedded in its plastic material, and in one construction this reinforcement permits of the rear ribs &c. being dispensed with.
