PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the generation of nitric acid in a rotating body to extend the life of the rotating body and a cleaning blade.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 10 performs image forming processing in an electrophotographic system. The image forming apparatus 10 includes a secondary transfer belt 41 and an EPDM roller 61. The EPDM roller 61 is brought into contact with the outer peripheral surface of the secondary transfer belt 41. The EPDM roller 61 supplies a neutralizer of nitric acid that is a discharge product attached to the outer peripheral surface of the secondary transfer belt 41 to the outer peripheral surface of the secondary transfer belt 41. The EPDM roller 61 can supply the neutralizer in the amount with which nitric acid can be neutralized. |
