A method to apply a visual effect includes the following processes of: analyzing an image which is acquired in an image sensor; selecting a photographing mode according to the analyzed image; and displaying at least one visual effect on a preset area of a screen by applying at least one preset visual effect of the selected photographing mode to the acquired image.
