PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance responsiveness upon transition to an engine travelling mode.SOLUTION: The vehicle control device comprises: a travelling motor 12 connected to a driving wheel 21; an input clutch 30 provided between the travelling motor 12 and an engine 11; and a torque converter 16 provided between the engine 11 and the input clutch 30. A control unit 61 sets a motor travelling mode as a travelling mode that releases the input clutch 30, stops the engine 11 and drives the travelling motor 12. The control unit 61 sets an engine travelling mode as a travelling mode that engages the input clutch 30 and drives the engine 11. The control unit 61 controls the engagement state of the input clutch 30 when vehicle speed falls below a first threshold while travelling in the motor travelling mode. |
