PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively suppress any blockage of an inner wall of an immersion nozzle. SOLUTION: An energization circuit is constituted of an immersion nozzle 5 constituting one electrode, molten steel 2 flowing in a molten steel path from the inside of a tundish 1 to the immersion nozzle 5 via a sliding gate 4, and a counter electrode 10 which forms the other electrode and is disposed so as to be immersed in the molten steel 2 in the tundish 1 and so as not to be electrically connected to the tundish 1. When performing the energization by applying the potential difference between an inner surface of the molten steel path and the molten steel 2 flowing in the molten steel path so that the polarities of the immersion nozzle 5 and the counter electrode 10 are changed to be positive and negative at the period of 1-100 m seconds, the current is applied so that the time-average electric potential of the immersion nozzle 5 becomes the value of the cathode within 30 minutes from the start of the casting, and the current is continuously applied even during the ladle change when the continuous casting is continuously performed. The reduction reaction of oxidation of antioxidant applied onto an inner wall of the immersion nozzle is suppressed, and kept consistent.
