PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rice polishing device comprising a mesh member difficult to break, capable of decreasing the amount of bran remaining in rice. SOLUTION: The rice polishing device 1 including a rice polishing device body 2, a bran-receiving container 3 detachably housed in the rice polishing device body 2, a polished-rice container 4 that is detachably housed in the bran-receiving container 3 and includes a mesh member 24 comprising a plurality of holes of a size not allowing particles of rice R to pass therethrough while allowing bran B to pass therethrough, and a rice polishing body 5 disposed in the polished-rice container 4 to rotate in accordance with the rotation of a motor 16 disposed in the rice polishing device body 2, is characterized in that a highly abrasion resistant metallic disc 27 of a radius greater than the distance from the center of the rice polishing body 5 to the tip of a rod member 35, i.e., an agitator, with the height of the outer edge of its outer circumference 27A being lower than the lower end of the rod member 35, is disposed on the bottom of the polished-rice container 4, whereby the polished-rice container 4 can be made difficult to break by abrasion and the bran B can uninterruptedly be discharged from the polished-rice container 4 as well.
